How and When did it all Happen

With Nick’s love of Christmas, December was an ideal choice for Nicola and Nick to get married. It was the perfect opportunity to get all the family together and to top it off, the sun shone all day.

The Wedding and Reception Venue

Before Nick had even thought about popping the question, he had heard about Gaynes Park when he went shooting in one of the fields some years ago.

We loved the style of it. It was all very understated and stylish, and the staff were so helpful from day one

Bridesmaids

Nicola had three bridesmaids; sisters Kelly and Laura, and cousin Amy.

My sisters are my best friends and I couldn’t have got through the day without them.

She also had a flower girl and two-page boys. The bridesmaids wore black one shoulder floor length dresses by Jim Hjelm Occasions, which were bought from Bellisima. In keeping with the theme, they also wore silver glitzy shoes and a diamante bow hair slide. The flower girl wore a lace dress from John Lewis and the page boys wore navy trousers, navy patent brogue shoes and shirts by Ralph Lauren.

The Men

Nick looked dashing in a blue slim suit with a low style waistcoat in the same colour and a slim white Hermes tie.

I thought he looked so handsome. He wears a suit so well!

Nick had three best men who all wore suits from Jack Bunneys and slim navy ties.

Your Dress, Accessories and Flowers

Nicola’s wedding dress was a beautiful Pronovias lace gown with sweetheart neckline bought from Mirror Mirror in Islington.

I loved my dress and felt amazing!

Nicola’s mum and dad bought Nicola a tiara with big diamante jewels on it from Bellisima and a pair of Christian Louboutin nude and black lace peep toes shoes. “I also wore a diamond pendant, bought for me by my gorgeous husband, and a Tiffany bracelet bought by my mum, dad and sister.”

Transport

Nicola arrived in a Bentley Flying Spur and the bridesmaids were driven in a black Jaguar. Both were supplied by Bentley Chauffeur Services.

The Decorative Touches

Nicola and Nick’s wedding theme was black and white, diamante with elegance. They also incorporated their initials ‘N & N’ throughout their theme. The Orangery was decorated for the ceremony with two white large urns, featuring seasonal pink flowers and wicker hearts and flowers on the chairs and registrar table.

I also ordered a large ‘N&N’ off the internet to sit in the background.

Inside, the barn was decorated with twinkly lights and green foliage was wrapped around the four beams. Table decorations included a mixture of martini glass centrepieces filled with vintage, pink sweet avalanche roses and art deco diamante lamps surrounded by tea lights. All were supplied by Marion Cottis at Poppies Designer Flowers. More decorations were placed outside, including lamps, flowers and ‘N&N’ initials.

The Cake

Nicola and Nick’s wedding cake was provided by Classic Cakes.

We ordered the cake based on a recommendation by a friend. It was a three tier black and white wedding cake, a white cake decorated with black ribbon and diamante trim, topped with a diamante ‘N & N’ cake topper. I don’t like fruit cake, so all three tiers were delicious sponge!

Best Part of The Day

The best part of the day was walking down the garden aisle with my dad in the sunshine and seeing Nick smiling at me – we were so happy that our day was finally here! The whole day was the best of our lives, but at the end of the night when the whole of the room piled onto the dance floor and sang ‘Hey Jude’… was a memory we’ll never forget. Being surrounded by our friends and family was the best end to a perfect day.

Honeymoon

Nicola and Nick went on their honeymoon in January with their little boy Harry. “We went to a wonderful place in the Maldives called ‘The Lily Beach Resort and Spa’. We had the best 10 days of our lives and truly loved the place. We hope to go back in the future!”
