After a proposal following a day out in London, Amber and Brad began planning their wedding. Their beautiful mid-week September wedding was the perfect start to autumn for this fabulous couple.
The Wedding & Reception Venue
One of the Amber and Brad’s priorities for their wedding was to plan a day that they were comfortable with. They didn’t want anything that didn’t suit them or was too far from their personal style and so, when they found Gaynes Park, they were absolutely overjoyed.
“I’d always imagined that I would get married in a stately home but once I’d seen Gaynes Park, nothing could compare. We knew we wanted a venue where we could hold everything in one place so guests could just relax as soon as they walked in.”
“Brad and I fell in love with Gaynes Park as soon as we saw it. The gardens were beautiful, the décor was classic and natural and the feel of the place was professional yet relaxed.”
The first thing that Amber and Brad did was to work out a budget and allocate funds to different suppliers and purchases. Then, it was time to hit the internet and find the perfect wedding professionals for the big day.
“Rock My Wedding was really useful.. My brother-in-law bought us a subscription to Wedding Ideas magazine and I loved these arriving by post each month. I also found a lot of suppliers through Gaynes Park and I knew as they were recommended, they were going to be reliable!”

Amber definitely made the most of her dressing shopping experience, visiting five boutiques and trying on around forty dresses before finding the one. She knew that she wanted a tight-fitting, strapless dress to suit her petite frame and eventually, she found her dream dress at Matchmaker Bride.
“I tried on ‘my’ dress and felt fab. I didn’t make a snap decision and scheduled to go back to try on a few dresses at various boutiques before I was absolutely sure I wanted the Maggie Sottero gown I had found.”
Amber finished her bridal look with a long veil and Swarovski earrings. Amber’s wonderful brother gifted her a gorgeous pair of Louboutin heels for her wedding and these sparkling gold court shoes looked amazing on the day.

Brad wore a made-to-measure Ted Baker @ Moss Bros suit and added a Paisley blue tie and pocket square. The groomsmen hired their suits and added ties and pocket squares too.

“My three best friends were my bridesmaids and they wore lilac dresses by Veromia from Confetti & Couture with silver strappy sandals from Faith. I have to say that I found choosing the bridesmaid’s dresses harder than choosing my own!”
Amber and Brad’s classic white theme included a pop of colour with lilac accents. They also wanted to bring their own style to the day with some handmade details that included a fabulous Order of Service crafted from a framed mirror, a photo display and a wedding welcome sign.
“We also worked with stylists Mediterranean Occasions. We added lanterns down the aisle for our ceremony as you really don’t need to add much to the Walled Garden as it’s so pretty. I loved our floral centrepieces in the Mill Barn and we also added tea lights to each table.”

Before the big day, the bridal party enjoyed a relaxing evening in a luxurious setting.
“I was really lucky as I got to stay in The Coach House with my mum and bridesmaids the night before.”
Amber and Brad held their civil wedding ceremony at Gaynes Park and it was a very special part of the day. Amber’s father escorted her down the aisle to the sounds of ‘The first time ever I saw your face’ and both Brad’s sister and Amber’s maid of honour gave readings. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed the celebrations in the Walled Garden.
“There was Pimm’s for our drinks reception along with elderflower as the non-alcoholic option. The weather was beautiful and guests were so happy mingling the garden along with our singer and magician, to entertain them.”
Everyone moved to the Mill Barn for the wedding breakfast and the menu was absolutely delicious. The couple included all their favourite foods in their menu so included ham croquette to start, followed by fillet steak and chocolate brownie for dessert.

“We invited around 70 extra guests for our evening reception. After our first dance, I was on the dance floor for most of the evening!”
Guests were also treated to a fabulous magic mirror photobooth from Mediterranean Occasions and a sweet cart filled with yummy treats. At the end of the evening, Amber and Brad escaped on their own whilst lots of their guests made their way to The Coach House for the night.
“It couldn’t have been more perfect. I loved waking up and having a delicious breakfast together with our guests. The Coach House was so luxurious, I actually wish we had stayed there ourselves although the Apple Loft was just as beautiful! From start to finish, the team at Gaynes Park and The Coach House were so accommodating!”
“Don’t sweat the small stuff! Things don’t seem to matter on the day and remember that it’s really easy to get carried away on Etsy and Pinterest but no one really remembers all the small details.”
“It’s hard to choose the best bits of the day but I absolutely loved getting ready in the morning. We were all so calm and I was just so excited to see Brad and all our guests. Also, after the ceremony, we went away with our photographer to have some photos taken and it was lovely to step away and spend some time together to just soak up the day.”
