Danielle & Charley
After a New Year’s Eve proposal at Disneyland Paris with their two little boys in attendance, Danielle and Charley began to plan their autumn wedding at Gaynes Park.
The Wedding & Reception Venue
Booking the venue was the first thing on the to-do list for Danielle and Charley and after searching for wedding venues in Essex, the couple visited Gaynes Park:
“We instantly fell in love with the venue. Everything is amazing at Gaynes Park, the stunning Orangery , the Mill Barn and the grounds. We also really liked The Coach House – we wanted there to be accommodation at our venue so we didn’t have to leave at the end of the day.”
Danielle and Charley booked their wedding with over two and a half years to wait for the big day. However, it was with good reason because the date they chose was very meaningful:
“We booked our wedding for Friday 22nd September – seven years to the day since we first spoke to each other.”

“We wanted a venue where everything was in one place, where we’d be the only couple at the venue on the day and we also wanted for the day to work, come rain or shine.”
Bridesmaids
Danielle chose her best friends, her sister, her cousin and her son’s god-parent to be her bridesmaids. With six maids to dress, Danielle found the perfect solution at Victoria Lou :
“My bridesmaids were all different sizes from a tiny size 6 to a size 14. I thought it was going to be a struggle finding something that sorted them all but the multiway dresses from Victoria Lou were absolutely perfect.”
“My bridesmaids were all so brilliant. They helped me make so many decisions and I really couldn’t have done it without them, especially my maid of honour.”

Dress & Accessories
Every bride looks forward to shopping for her wedding dress but in Danielle’s case, she wasn’t the only one looking out for the perfect gown:
“One of my married friends kept sending me pictures of dresses and one of the images was of the most beautiful gown by Enzoani . We hunted it down and that was my dress.”
“It was exactly the style that I thought I’d wear and I just knew it was for me. I had really liked almost every dress I’d tried on but when I put this gown on, I realised that nothing else could compare to it.”
To accessorise her dream dress, Danielle wore a tiny diamond necklace, small diamond earrings and ballet shoes so that she’d be comfortable all day long.

The Decorative Touches
Danielle and Charley worked with stylists Mediterranean Occasions to bring their silver and white wedding theme to life:
“In the Orangery, the aisle was lined with lanterns, there were wicker hearts hanging in the trees and large LOVE letters with white flowers. There was a flower wall in the Gather Barn too.”
“We had a beautiful chandelier hanging in the Mill Barn with draping and swagging too. For the evening, a huge glitter dancefloor was put down with cocktail tables set around it.”
The couple’s three witnesses made the favours – cakes in jars that were incredibly popular with their guests. And, as a tribute to Danielle’s Dad, the couple’s aisle runner included some very special wording.

The Wedding Day
Following the beautiful ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests celebrated with Pimms and strawberry rose sangria in the Orangery and then moved to the Mill Barn for the wedding breakfast – prawn cocktail, roast lamb and a very popular trio of desserts.
The bride’s Father, the groom’s usher, the groom and Charley and Danielle’s little boy all made speeches and it’s possible that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Danielle’s cousin, who was also one of the bridesmaids, made the couple’s wedding cake, a simple yet elegant white chocolate delight.
After the dinner, it was time for the evening party and the couple kicked off proceedings with their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’.
“We didn’t choreograph a routine and just went with it. The words of the song were just so suited us and match our feelings for each other. It was fantastic.”
For additional evening entertainment, Danielle and Charley booked a Photo Booth cab and this was a huge hit:
“It was the best thing ever. Our guests LOVED it and the photos are absolutely brilliant.”
“Our day was just perfect, the whole day was amazing. Gaynes Park made sure the whole day flowed brilliantly. I can’t thank the staff enough.”

“Our speeches were amazing. Charley has a way with words and got very emotional telling everyone just what I meant to him. I’ll never tire of hearing those beautiful words.”
After The Wedding
Charley and Danielle stayed at Gaynes Park after the celebrations finished so that they could enjoy being with their nearest and dearest for a little longer.
“The Coach House is just ‘wow’ and so cosy and gorgeous. Our guests couldn’t fault the Coach House. They all loved their rooms. It was amazing having breakfast the following morning in such fantastic surroundings.”
With the wedding behind them, it was time for another treat and Danielle and Charley headed to trees of Hampshire for their honeymoon:
“We stayed for a week at Chewton Glen in a luxury treehouse! It was beautiful, we relaxed and treated ourselves to some great food and excursions too.”
Wedding Planning Tips
“Our parents and our married friends were really helpful and they advised us, suggesting the things that it would be worth spending money on. We booked our venue first, that was a priority.”
“We found our suppliers online and used lots of the recommended suppliers from Gaynes Park. We even found our photographer, Iliaria Petrucci, on the Gaynes Park Instagram feed!”
“The best part of the day for me was walking down the aisle and seeing Charley. If we could do it all again, we wouldn’t change a thing.”
