Faye & Sam
Sam and Faye were together for six years before getting wed at Gaynes Park. Their love blossomed from a chance meeting at the Fez club, in Putney, which was followed by a date night in Clapham. Sam knew pretty early on that Faye was ‘the one’ and even asked her parents for their permission to marry Faye 10 months before popping the question!
The Proposal
When Sam started to talk about proposals and insisting the couple visited Kew Gardens later that week, Faye began to expect that something special was about to happen.

“I remember standing in the shower that morning thinking, ‘I could be getting engaged today’, and then reminding myself not to be disappointed if it didn’t happen! It did happen though. Sam had picked a beautiful spot by the river in the Gardens where he said some lovely words and produced a corker of a diamond!”
The Wedding Reception and Venue
The first step of the wedding planning process was to find the right venue. The couple knew they wanted a spring wedding in a barn setting and were happy to visit as many venues as required to find ‘the one’.
It was the simple style and all-in-one setting at Gaynes Park that won the couple over, as well as the beauty of the setting and the Barn’s interior.
“We were blown away when we first saw the venue. The outside wedding space was beautiful and both the Orangery and Mill Barn were perfect for our needs. Sam also loved Apple Loft Cottage and the high standard of the Coach House.”

Bridesmaids
When it came to the bridesmaids’ attire, all five girls requested full-length dresses, making bridesmaid shopping a lot easier for Faye and her friends. The group ended up choosing blush, chiffon, column gowns from Coast, which perfectly complemented Faye’s romantic, pretty, floral theme.
Faye was more than happy for Sam to take responsibility for all of the men’s attire. Sam opted for a made-to-measure navy three-piece suit, teamed with a blue bow tie. His groomsmen also wore navy, but had pale bow ties.
“On the day, Sam looked so handsome. He doesn’t wear a suit to work, so it’s always a novelty to see him dressed up.”

Your Dress, Accessories and Flowers
Soon after Faye got engaged, she fell in love with Sassi Holford gowns. Keen to try one on, she booked an appointment at the Sassi Holford boutique in London. The trip didn’t disappoint – Faye found her dream dress, which also happened to be the gown her mum picked out.
“My dress was probably my biggest splurge. It made me feel like a princess.”
Faye teamed her gown with a cathedral veil, LK Bennett shoes, and simple accessories, including a pearl hair vine. Her bouquet added the finishing touch and combined roses ohara, la belle, sweet avalanche, pink spray roses, palest pink astilbe, cream stocks, pink peonies, ivory freesia, white sweet peas with jasmine and eucalyptus.

The Decorative Touches
Keen to let the beauty of Gaynes Park do all the talking, Faye and Sam decided to keep their décor relatively simple. Instead of going over the top with detail, the pair styled the venue with beautiful fresh flowers. Their florist also designed a stunning baby’s breath arch in the Orangery and a rose backdrop in the ceremony space.
“I have always loved flowers and wanted them to feature heavily in our spring wedding. Our florist, Sam, was brilliant at interpreting my ideas into a stunning selection of blooms and arrangements.”
In Mill Barn , the couple added a sweetie table, where guests could indulge in their favourite treats. This was covered with a lace and burlap runner and also featured crates of flowers.
The Cake
To complement their pretty décor, the couple opted for something simple and chic when it came to their wedding cake. What’s more, they found the perfect cake in Waitrose!
“We had a mix of fruit and Victoria sponge layers with plain white icing and ivory ribbons.”

Honeymoon
